LINDA M. SHUMAKER, P.E. IS PRESENTED WITH THE 2018 ENGINEER OF THE YEAR AWARD FROM THE BROOME CHAPTER OF THE NEW YORK STATE SOCIETY OF PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERS



Linda M. Shumaker, P.E., President of Shumaker Consulting Engineering & Land Surveying, D.P.C., has been recognized by the Broome Chapter of the New York State Society of Professional Engineers as the 2018 Engineer of the Year. Ms. Shumaker has been providing engineering services within the States of NY and PA for over 40 years. For the past 25 years, she has led and grown her firm from 1 office of 10 employees to 4 offices in 2 States and nearly 50 employees. Ms. Shumaker has developed Shumaker into one of the largest Women-Owned firms in New York State offering comprehensive engineering, environmental, survey, and construction inspection consulting services for public and private sector capital development projects.

Ms. Shumaker states, “I am humbled by this distinguished honor and congratulate all engineers in their dedication to the profession”.

Ms. Shumaker is currently a member of the Governor’s Regional Economic Council in the Southern Tier. She is past chair of the American Council of Engineering Companies of New York (ACECNY) and currently serves on the Watson School of Engineering Advisory Board at Binghamton University. She is also a current member of the Broome County Land Bank Board, Binghamton University Roadmap Community Engagement Committee, Binghamton University’s Harpur Forum, the Broome Community College Civil Engineering Technical Advisory Committee, the Broome County IDA STEED Advisory Loan Committee, and the Southern Tier East Regional Planning Board.
