2018 ENGINEER OF THE YEAR AWARD FROM THE 

AMERICAN COUNCIL OF ENGINEERING COMPANIES OF NEW YORK

Linda M. Shumaker, P.E., President of Shumaker Consulting Engineering & Land Surveying, D.P.C., has been recognized by the American Council of Engineering Companies of New York (ACEC New York) as the 2018 Engineer of the Year. Ms. Shumaker is the first woman to receive this distinction during ACEC New York's 97 year history. Ms. Shumaker has developed Shumaker into one of the largest Women-Owned firms in New York State offering comprehensive engineering, environmental, survey, and construction inspection consulting services for public and private sector capital development projects.

Each year, ACEC New York recognizes an exemplary individual for their leadership, commitment, innovation and service to the consulting engineering industry and the greater New York community. The awardee is selected for their achievements and support in furthering the council's mission, their active participation at the city, state and national levels of the organization, and their civic and humanitarian contributions. The purpose of the award is to recognize an active or retired member who has made significant contributions to the consulting engineering profession, the association and his or her community. We are proud to announce that Ms. Shumaker has been recognized by her peers within the engineering industry as a model of success and dedication to her community and the industry as a whole.
